PREMISE

All the stories are true. Years ago, the Fae came out because technology was making it harder and harder for them to hide, and it's been a couple of years since the werewolves did the same. The world is changing day by day. Humans and the paranormal live side by side, but it's not easy nor is it simple. While the Marrok has taken great lengths and care to preserve the werewolves' PR front, everyone - wolf, fae, vampire and other - know that it's only a matter of time before the humans start thinking that perhaps the other stories meant to warn of the dark are true.

This is an open post set in the universe of Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series. The books are amazing and you should definitely check them out. More information via this Wiki link. The rules are simple: Drop a prompt, leave a tag, and let's play!

[She shakes her head a little, speaking quietly only to not talk over the movie too much.]

No, they're just dresses, but I like certain aspects about both of them. One of them looks like it's period but the other...well, it's pretty wench-y. I'm not sure if it stands out because of that or because they've somehow modernized the wench style to appeal to the audiences...

Point them out to me.

[ He offers her a smile, the hand he has by her shoulder gently stroking her skin. ]

[One would think after the night before, Eun would be satisfied for a while. But Asil's thumb slides over her skin and somehow manages to hit just the right nerves to send a shiver up her spine. She returns his smile as she shifts to drape an arm across his middle.]

I will.

[The movie continues as they speak, shifting to Morgan being drunk in the hold of her ship. The author implying that the men will not follow her orders, and Glasspoole, one of Eun's favorites, coming down to fetch Morgan before she loses the crew to lack of attendance. Even drunk, Morgan is strong, and Eun appreciates that they only question her ability to captain and bring in money. Not her fitness for the captaincy based on her gender.

The scenes shift, and soon Morgan and a few of her crew are in Port Royal to find someone who can translate the text on her map. Eun gestures at the screen with a lift of her chin.]

There, that's the first one. She looks amazing, doesn't she?

I suppose this is where the leading lady and her soon-to-be paramour meet for the first time?

[ He reaches for some popcorn, amusement in his tone.

However, since Eun did ask about his take on the fashions in the film. ]

The cut of the neckline is oddly inappropriate for a woman of her supposed station.

You would be correct.

[Eun reaches up to steal popcorn out of his hand, and pops it into her mouth.]

I wonder if the people in charge wanted to show off her shoulders or if it's supposed to be a sign of the character not knowing any better how to wear the dress.

I am less distressed over accuracy and more on that the leading lady has a shapely upper torso but that cut is not entirely flattering on her.

[ He chews on some chips. Perhaps it is both? ] It does not appear that her crewmen might be overly concerned with the accuracy of costuming. And the one who did remark that he had some knowledge exited quite abruptly.

[Eun gives him a look, at first because she's not used to a man having an idea of flattering cuts of gowns, and then because he apparently is poking a little bit at the plot. She gently nudges him with her elbow.]

Mi amor, it's not the sort of movie to be distressed over anything about it. Accuracy or plot holes. I was merely curious.

Very well, my love.

[ Chuckling as he gently sets aside any further comments in favor of settling back into enjoyment. Entertainment for entertainment's sake and all.

He even manages to keep his thoughts to himself until Shaw translates for Morgan: You're a very beautiful woman. I'd like to wash your feet. ]

I have to hand it to the boy. That is a line worth using.

[She does so love the tension between Morgan and Shaw. Neither of them are who they say they are, each of them playing a different game. You can see the wheels turning in Shaw's mind as she spits out a harsh "Say something Latinish" and rather than be put off by it, the man is all the more intrigued.

He does not fear a strong woman in the least.

Asil's comment does earn him another look however, and while Morgan tells Shaw to wash his mouth, Eun takes another approach.]

Is that one you would use with me?

[ Sliding an intrigued look in her direction now. ]

Would it work?

[Eun lifts a brow at him, not at all shy about this.]

If you said it like you meant it. You'd get bonus points for saying it in Latin. Or another language.

[She has no issue telling him that she'd get weak in the knees for a well-delivered line. Words are powerful, and when they're offered in a way that is suave and smooth, incredibly dirty, or in another language...Eun's probably more susceptible to it than most women already are.]

Well, I might be persuaded to do just that. [ He leans in, close enough to kiss, but instead choosing to touch the tip of his nose to hers. ]

English is a language I learn and practice out of necessity. But if it pleases you, I am happy to make small declarations in the languages that are closer to my heart.

[Eun has never paused a movie as often as she does this afternoon. Her hand fumbles for the remote control as her gaze continues to rest on his face, especially as he leans in closer. Normally she doesn't talk during movies. She doesn't pause them for anything less than bathroom necessities or legitimate interruptions. But Asil just has to flirt with her a little and she's hitting that pause button quick as can be.]

It would make me very happy, especially if you don't mind also translating later as necessary. [She shifts slightly, tip of her nose brushing his, a smile on her face even as her gaze drops down to his mouth and up again.] I'd be pleased enough to persuade you that the effort is worth it.

[ The temptation to kiss her is too great - so he does not bother fighting against it. ]

I could also teach you whatever language strikes your fancy. [ The kiss he initiates is chaste, but playful, with a hint of teeth on her bottom lip. ] But I am keeping you from our movie.

[ Not that it is any hardship. ]

[She returns the kiss, as chastely and playfully as he offers it. Or at least, mostly. Her lips capture his lower lip and she sucks gently for just a moment, unable to help herself any better than he could.]

The movie can wait a minute. You are right here. [She kisses him again, this time with a little more feeling, a little more heat.] You're going to teach me how to better use a knife and how to wield a sword. You explain things about werewolves to me. Let me see if I can teach myself more Spanish again so that you are not my teacher in all things.

That, [ he leans a little more into the kiss, content to accept whatever she offers ] would be lovely.

[ The arm he had draped about her shoulders curls around her more, an invitation to settle into his embrace and better up against him. ]

As lovely as you introducing me to new things that I might otherwise be too stubborn to start on my own.

[ She really is his heart. For her, he would gladly pick up new tricks. ]

[She takes the invitation he offers without a word, turning into his embrace with no regard for the movie screen that is now behind her as she faces him. there is no small amount of affection in her gaze as she reaches up to brush her fingertips across his brow and down the side of his face.]

I am more than happy to make it my mission to continue to do that. Maybe we can find a few things that are new to both of us to enjoy together as well.

[Something for them to bond over together. Something that they can both go into having not experienced it before. Her hand slides up to his chest as she brushes another kiss across his lips. It's very possible that she's going to continue to have a hard time figuring out what their pace is going to be, but there is no doubt in her mind that he is worth all of the stumbling and embarrassment it will take her to get there.]

I would very much like that.

[ He lets himself sink into the kiss, thinking idly that Eun has, no doubt, plenty to teach him. Holding her like this is fast becoming instinctive. While they are still finding their footing together, he is content to see where this dance of theirs takes them. ]

[Eun indulges herself. There's a movie to get back to but it is difficult to draw herself away from him. He is beautiful, and after a night together she understands just how to kiss him, and how to run her hands over his chest. She does not push anything too far, but she allows herself to enjoy kissing him a while longer before pulling back. She sets the movie to resume playing, and aside from occasional glances over to his face to see if he's enjoying the same parts she does, remains quiet and content to watch to the end.

The end is, of course, extremely satisfying to Eun. She appreciates the lead characters, both proving to be very clever in their own ways, and the sentiment that there are more adventures on the horizon for Morgan, Shaw, and the crew. Eun pushes upright on the couch at the movie's end, and stretches her arms above her head to work some stiffness out of her muscles. Looking back over to Asil, she offers him a smile.]

Campy but enjoyable, yes? Or at least tolerable?

I think we can go with very enjoyable.

[ Admittedly, he'd found himself more engrossed in the film than he'd expected himself to be. But the leads were both charming and the premise relatavle enough. ]

You should invite Kara to watch. Morgan is an excellent role model.

[ Not that he would endorse that she put herself recklessly in harm's way - but sometimes it could not be helped, and if anything, keeping one's head in high stakes situations would be an excellent takeaway. ]

[While Eun looks quite happy that he's deemed her movie very enjoyable, the fact that he adds that she should show it to Kara pleases her all the more. Without a movie to hold her attention she shifts, twisting on the couch until she's able to lean against him face to face. Her forearms rest against his chest, fingers idly playing wtih the fabric of his shirt.]

She definitely has some admirable qualities, and the ones that are not so admirable aren't exactly an issue for werewolves. No worrying about Kara getting so drunk she cannot function. [She pauses for breath, before adding with an edge of hesitance.] I admit, as the movie started I wondered if it might seem a bit...silly to you. It's not exactly an example of high quality writing even if the production was excellent.

[ He reaches up to tuck her hair behind her ear. ]

Why would you think that I would find it silly?

[ He can hazard a guess, but clarifications and honesty are better than assumptions made in haste on his part. ]

[She leans into the touch, head turning to catch his fingertips with a brief touch of her lips. When she looks back, however, her eyebrow is lifted ever so slightly.]

When we were talking, your tastes seemed sort of elevated compared to mine. [More highbrow.] I thought if you didn't mind watching Teen Wolf with Kara, Cutthroat Island it might not be an issue, but I wondered a little all the same.

I rarely watch films to pass the time, but I do not object to it when it is something that the people I care about enjoy.

[ A gentle smile now, before he tracks a finger from her forehead down to the tip of her nose. ]

I honestly did enjoy the movie. Thank you for sharing it with me.

[The explanation he offers seems reasonable. There is no lie in his words, tone, or scent. It is impossible to doubt in the face of such signals. Leaning forward, she presses another kiss to his mouth.]

I'll try to think of another I think we could enjoy together then. And I do think some sort of low-key movie night with the pack could be fun. Especially the popcorn-throwing kind of viewing...

[She pauses a beat, a look of contemplation crossing her face.]

Most of the wolves here are very old, aren't they? I know there are a few closer to my age but it's safe to say most are at least a couple hundred years old or more, right?
