She doesn't have a chance to catch her breath, or finish the thought of Never thought I'd see you again, and you'd remember me. He is back, the same familiar scent, the same all-consuming hug, but then the unfamiliar terrain comes.

He kisses her. He will hear her sharp intake of air just as his lips touch hers, and the way she will melt after two seconds, exhaling through her nose and pulling him closer to kiss him back. Toes curled, fingers in his hair, her heart in her throat. It's like her whole body right now is saying Finally! Because - finally!

When he eases back, she does catch her breath, but she's still chasing him a little, enough to let her lips graze his again, just to make sure that was a thing. That just happened.

"I was," she murmurs after a bit, opening her eyes to meet his gaze so close. "I didn't see you. There's been a lot more people this time, and I've been...it's been almost half a year, but I kept coming..."
