[From a modern man, those words would probably have a faint hint of teasing in the tone. They would seem archaeic for someone who never spoke them sincerely in their life. But from Asil, there is no mockery in the words or sentiment. Eun bites back a comment about how there are some commands she can think of making, but her mother is there in the kitchen. Alas.]

Here, this plate.

[She scoots over to the fridge and pulls out a wide, deep dish with several thick steaks in marinade. Eun presses it into his hands and picks up the other, smaller plate.]

I'll show you there.

[Leading the way, Eun takes Asil to the door out to the backyard. There's a wooden landing just through the door, and down the stairs to the ground level Charles, Anna, and Eun's father are settled around the grill. Eun sets hers on a tray near her father, leaving the larger space next to the built in grill available for Asil.]

Veggies in five to ten, Dad, okay?

[Her father takes the opportunity to kiss the top of her head. "Tell her to make it ten, sweetheart."]

Will do. [She turns to go up to the kitchen again, when her father speaks up to Asil. "How do you like your steak done?"]
