[ jim kirk's a good pilot and that's that. chuck's better — and she'd be all too happy to prove it, too.

( when it comes to compatibility, though, she's not. not better, not compatible with most people. it doesn't matter, because her uncle scott's a fuck-up and she's going to be in a jaeger with her old man as soon as the mark v is finished. she's perfectly drift compatible with her father, regardless of the fact that they barely talk outside of training. )

max barks at kirk, once, and then decides to ignore chuck's anger and instead waddle over and push his head into kirk's legs like the affection-starved traitor that he is. she doesn't care about that, really. just like she doesn't give a damn whether it was spock or kirk who fucked up. they fucked up and kirk is the one she followed.

( she can never get a rise out of spock. at least with kirk, there's a common language of sorts, nonverbal though it might be. )

should have expected him to hit on her, he always does. she still rolls her eyes, derision thick in her tone and written over her features.
] You wish.

[ she's fifteen and not entirely immune to his charm and good looks, but he's also an entitled jerk and it's easy to focus on that rather than the way he looks at her and the knowledge ( overheard snippets of conversation ) that he'd be good in bed. she doesn't want that kind of information. not when he acts like it's perfectly okay that he acted in a way that, hadn't it been a simulation, might have fucked them all over. ]

You can't pull that kind of stunt, asshole.
